Chair Position Descriptions
Industrial Chair
The Industrial Chair is in charge of setting up speakers related to
either the Engineering Field or Professional and Career Development.
In addition, this person will work with the President to set up
Engineering Futures Sessions throughout the year, in order to
provide an educational service to the university.
Fundraising Chair
The Fundraising Chair works closely with the Treasurer in obtaining
the funds to have social events and provide services to the university.
This person will plan events to raise money for Tau Beta Pi
to use in other areas, and may seek help from other officers and
committee chairs with these Fundraising events.
Historian Chair
The Historian Chair keeps a photo record of all Tau Beta Pi events.
If the Historian cannot be present at an event, He/She must find
someone to make a photo record of the event. It is preferred that
this person have a decently powerful digital camera.
Activities Chair
The Activities Chair is in charge of social and service event
planning, and may seek help from other officers and committee chairs
in planning these events. This person should attend the Office of
Student Involvement Orientation to be able to sign up for rooms.
Induction Ceremony
>>Must attend induction

>>All responsibilities of a candidate must be completed and turned in by November 1st
>>Arrive at least 15 minutes early
>>Do not forget your polished Bent
>>The initiation is a private ceremony revealed only to initiates
and members.
>>Guests are not allowed to view the ceremony unless they are
Tau Beta Pi members
>>There will be a banquette after the ceremony
>>Guest are allowed to the banquette at a cost of $25, which can be paid
with membership dues
>>Dress is Business formal:
dress code.
